Ep.01 The Chat Room: 'Singleness Blessing or Curse'

Ep.01 The Chat Room: 'Singleness Blessing or Curse'

Today I'm going into The Chat Room where women from around the world join me in my virtual studio to discuss the topic of the week. The conversations are really eye-opening and we usually uncover nuggets that will help us live this single life like a boss.

Episode Summary

Two of my girls, Shari and Maureen, are with me in the Chat Room today. Shari explains the challenges that initially led her to believe that being single is a curse and how she eventually overcomes this. Maureen, who is happily married, explains how awesome her single life was and how decisions she made then help her now in her marriage of seven years. They both agree  that to enjoy and maximise our singleness, we need to the time wisely - to work on our emotions and not necessarily take on the emotions of loneliness that may sometimes come with being single because the reality is that rushing into marriage has  its own challenges.

Key Takeaways

  • Working  on your singleness will help you...to walk into your marriage feeling  more confident, knowing who you are and understanding yourself much clearer (5:16)
  • You must be comfortable with you (15:52)
  • Everyone needs accountability. We need someone that you know, you can be accountable to for your actions (18:00)
  • You have to get to that state of deciding within yourself that 'I am going to hold on and I am worth it' (18:41)
  • Whenever  you compromise it's downhill from there. And I can say it's downhill  from there because it pulls you away from God! (19:49)
  • Seek some guidance from church...to get spiritual healing (24:30)
